Mystery Question
Here is an example of our “Mystery Question” that we do each morning. We added two different parts on this mystery question and it got a little tricky! The kids need to put there name under the answer that represents them.
Three Billy Goats Gruff
We use these “learn to draw” strips to help us learn to draw different characters in the stories we are reading.
Here’s a bridge one group made…
Here’s another group making a different bridge!
Apple PIcking!
We had a blast apple picking at Honey Pot Hill Orchards back in September! Check out our pictures...

Elkonin Boxes Video
Here we are playing a new literacy center game: Elkonin Boxes. We work with our partner to sound out CVC words (Consonant-Vowel-Consonant). The student with the “teacher” mediator card puts the chips under the boxes and slides them into each box as both students say the sounds. The student with the “student” mediator card taps out each sound on their fingers. (We first slide our thumb across each of our fingertips and say the whole word “yak”. Then we touch the pointy finger to our thumb and say the first sound, /y/, then we touch our middle finger to our thumb and say the second sound, /a/, then we touch our ring finger to our thumb and say the third sound, /k/. Then we slide our thumb across each of our fingertips as we say the whole word again “yak”.

The Numerals Game
We added new "Frankenstein" counters to our "Numerals Game" . One person, who has the hand mediator card picks a number and counts out that many counters, the person with the check mediator card takes the counters and checks them using the numerals board and puts one counter on each dot. Then they tell their partner if they counted the right amount of counters and we switch mediator cards!

Art Projects
Our family art project looks great on our classroom door! I love how everyone's pumpkins look so different!

Today we did a fun art project where we used corks to stamp in paint to decorate the fall trees.

We all got to decide if we wanted to make a house made from straw, sticks or bricks...can you tell what was the class favorite?
